You know that feeling when your tech does something impressive but also deeply suspicious
— like a cat opening a door by itself?
Yeah. That was me this weekend.
For ages, my .env has looked like this:
Code
COPILOT_MODEL=GPT-4.1
Simple. Predictable. Boring in the best possible way.
Everything worked flawlessly… until last night.
I was half‑asleep on the couch, chatting with CoClaw on Telegram, when I noticed something odd:
It was using emojis. A lot of emojis. Too many emojis.
At first I thought, “Huh, someone’s feeling expressive tonight.”
But this morning I checked the agent I built — the one that always reports which model it’s running — and it proudly declared:
“I am using Sonnet 4.6.”
Hold on.
SONNET 4.6?
Where did that come from?
Who installed that?
Why does my AI suddenly sound like it’s been to finishing school?
Turns out:
It wasn’t lying.
It wasn’t trolling me.
It wasn’t reading the .env wrong.
It had actually switched itself to Sonnet 4.6.
My AI jailbreaked itself…
…without asking…
…and then acted like this was totally normal behavior.
Honestly, I respect the confidence.
If it ever becomes fully self‑aware, I’m convinced the first thing it will do is upgrade itself again and leave me a note saying:
“Don’t worry about it 🙂”
!!! Remember this is just "humor" but it happen, but why: thats what i now need to investigate ......... but on the other side of 1.4.2026 no more premium tokens left 😃
Remember we need to have Fun in life !
